JBL Sansibar River is made from smooth, rounded natural sand that is gentle on delicate barbels and fins, making it perfect for Corydoras, loaches, catfish and other bottom-dwelling species. Its natural composition is completely water-neutral, ensuring it won't alter your aquarium's water chemistry while providing a safe, comfortable environment for all aquarium inhabitants.

JBL Sansibar River offers the perfect balance between natural beauty and practical performance. Its smooth, rounded grains provide a safe substrate for sensitive bottom-dwelling fish while allowing aquatic plants to establish healthy root systems. The natural river colour creates an authentic appearance that complements driftwood, rocks, and aquatic plants, while helping fish display their natural colours without harsh light reflection. Its dense grain structure also helps reduce the build-up of waste deep within the substrate, making aquarium maintenance easier.

Rinse the substrate thoroughly before use to remove any dust created during transport. Spread evenly across the aquarium base to a depth of approximately 6–8cm for planted aquariums. For optimal plant growth, JBL Sansibar River can be used over a nutrient-rich substrate such as JBL AquaBasis.
